WASHINGTON – Rep. Ayanna Pressley on Tuesday criticized Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Donald Trump, after Conway mocked bickering between Speaker Nancy Pelosi and four female freshman Democrats as a “major meow moment.”
“.@KellyannePolls oh hi Distraction Becky. Remember that time your boss tore babies from their mothers’ arms and threw them in cages?” Pressley, D-Mass., tweeted. “Yeah take a seat and keep my name out of your lying mouth.”
Becky is a slang term that often refers to a basic or generic white woman.
Pressley was reacting to a tweet from Conway that said: “Major Meow Mashup with @SpeakerPelosi brushing back anti-humanitarian border aid fresh-women @AOC @IlhanMN @AyannaPressley @RashidaTlaib”

Several days ago, Speaker Pelosi criticized Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Pressley for voting against emergency border aid funding, according to an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.
“All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” Pelosi said, according to the New York Times. “But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”
Since then, Ocasio-Cortez, Omar and Tlaib have fired back at Pelosi’s comment.
“That public ‘whatever’ is called public sentiment,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “And wielding the power to shift it is how we actually achieve meaningful change in this country.”
Tuesday morning, Conway said that Pelosi was brushing back at the four freshman Democratic lawmakers.
“A major meow moment — brushing back in a huge catfight, really ridiculing them — and they voted against the Democratic aid package,” Conway said in an interview with Fox News.
